The Igdir tribe of Qashqais (Captain A. J. Christian, 1919)

The Igder




Origin. — Emigrated from Turkestan to Fars.
Strength. — About 400 families who can raise possibly 400 tufangchis.
Chief. — Wali Khan.
Habitat. — Garmsir. — Husainabad and Kuhnj.
Sarhad. — Garmabad and Vardasht.
Migration. — Khunj—Qir-o-Karzin—Simakan—Maimand—Kavar—Karabagh—Kushan—Baiza Sarhad Chehar Dungeh—Khosrow Sihrin—Sehdeh—Hannab—Simarum—Garmabad. This is the longest migration of any of the Qashgai tribes.
Taxation. — 2,500 tomans.
Sub-tribes. — The sub-tribes of the Igder are: —
1.       The Shakarlu
2.       The Jarkani.
3.       The Eraqi.
4.       The Qarakahnlu.
