Agha Jan
Mirakhor.
A Kizilbash of Kabul of the Sherwani family. Formerly in the service of Sardar
Amin Khan and then in his son’s, Ismail Khan. He joined Yakub Khan in 1868 at
Herat, and incited him to revolt against Yakub’s father. His property was then
confiscated and after Yakub’s imprisonment he joined Ayyub and persuaded him to
flee to Persia. During 1880―81 he was employed under Wali Muhammad and on Abdur
Rahman’s arrival at Kabul joined Ayyub at Tehran.
