Ali Khan, Salar Heshmat
Born
1889. Half brother of Esmail Khan Soulat ed Douleh, and full brother of the
late Ahmad Khan, Sardar Ehtesham. Ilbeigi 1918. Fought with British troops
against Soulat ed Douleh in 1918. The latter seized his lands in Fars and these
have never been restored to him. 1929-30 took an active part in the Qashqai
revolt. Surrendered and came to Tehran in 1933. June 1943 went to Shiraz to
assist Government troops in operations against Qashqai in return for which he
hoped to recover his lands. On failure of operations he settled in Shiraz.
Receives a nominal pension irregularly paid from the Government but lives in
poverty. Reputed to be the bravest member of the Qashqai family. In his declining
years is very weak mentally and in conversation harps ceaselessly on the help
he has given the British Government for which he complains he has had no
return. Seems resigned to finishing his days in obscurity. Most unlikely that
he would dare stir up trouble for Naser Khan in the tribe.
