The Gunduzlu Afshars of Khuzestan (Major and Bt. Lieut-Col. Mark S. Bell, 1885)

Gunduzlu

1,500 families, occupying during the summer the banks of the Ab-i-Gargar and the plain of Mosibena, and in the winter the village of Boleiti, Baitawand, Turk-i-diz, Mosibena. They originally belonged to the Afshars, a Persian tribe inhabiting the greater part of Khuzistan, and even that now occupied by the Kab Arabs, the Bakhtiaris being at that time confined to the mountains. They have amongst them a considerable number of expert horsemen, and were in the time of Muhammad Taki very useful in reencounters with the Arabs, to whom they are superior in gallantry.
