Naib
Salar. Kizilbash of Ghazni. Commanded the cavalry at Kabul. A General for many
years but was imprisoned by Amir Abdur Rahman as a partisan of Sardar Ishaq
Khan. Reinstated by Amir Habibullah on his accession. In 1907 appointed to command
at Mazar-i-Sharif. Later, reported to have returned to Kabul with the Amir.
Appointed Naib Salar of Nangarhar, 1912―17, his command extended up the Kunar
Valley, Laghman and Nangarhar. In early 1919 Naib Salar of Hazarajat, but
recalled when his son Ali Shah Reza was convicted for the assassination of Amir
Habibullah, April 1919.
