Shaikh Muhammad Taqi,
Amin-us-Sharieh
Born
about 1868. Son of Mulla Muhammad Ismail Muzahlul of the Z’ulqadar family one
of whom in Shah Abbas’ time was Governor of Fars. Religious student of law and
practically unknown till 1919, except as agent for various Khamseh tribal
chiefs, in particular the Mazidi, with Qawam-ul-Mulk. By the latter appointed
Deputy to 4th Majlis for his ‘pocket-borough’ of Fasa. At Tehran
from 1921-23 acting as Qawam-ul-Mulk’s private representative as well. Elected
for Shiraz for 5th Majlis (1923) by his patron’s influence and
private arrangement with the Governor General Sarim-ud-Douleh as it was desired
to reserve Fasa for the latter’s brother-in-law Mushir Aazam. Harmless and
moderate, but not very business-like.
